Title: Transforming Health Care: Facilitating Patient Experiences and Satisfaction

Date: September 18-21, 2014

Location: METS Center, Erlanger, KY  (adjacent to the Greater Cincinnati Airport). The METs Center is part of Northern Kentucky University, a cosponsor for the program.

Conference Theme: The theme of this national conference focuses on issues related to healthcare transformation and factors that affect patient experiences, well-being, health, healing, and satisfaction.  Content and discussions will center on links to Modeling and Role-Modeling nursing theory.

Conference Goals:

  • Promote holistic theory-based, person -centered nursing across populations through practice, education or research.
  • Encourage dialogue on improving healthcare transformation, with a focus on the Patient’s and Family’s experiences and promotion of the their satisfaction, healing, and well-being;
  • Present research that furthers understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection and its relevance across populations;
  • Promote greater understanding of holistic nursing concepts and their interface with Modeling and Role-Modeling;
  • Provide a forum for the dissemination of knowledge of the holistic nursing theory of Modeling and Role-Modeling acquired through research, practice and teaching.

Abstracts sought for presentation:

Nurses and other healthcare providers interested in holistic nursing, patient and family centered care, health, and healing are invited to submit abstracts for papers or symposia (due March 10, 2014). Topics must be related to the conference theme and goals and can be 30, 60, or 90 minutes in length. Clinical applications, case studies, research, and educational approaches are welcome. Content should be relevant to education, research, or practice.

Guidelines for poster presentation abstracts will be found on www.mrmnursingtheory.org beginning February 1 and closing on June 1, 2014.

Presentation Abstract Submission Guidelines and Deadline

All abstracts must be submitted on-line. Go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SAMRM_presentation and follow the link to the submission form. All oral presentation abstracts are due by March 10, 2014.

Submissions will include: (a) your contact information, (b) a short bio statement, (c) the abstract, (d) a brief presentation outline, and (e) 1 to 3 learner objectives for the presentation.

Abstracts must include a (a) title, (b) purpose, and (c) summary and focus of content. The maximum length is 2,000 characters including spaces.

You can download the submission form PDF in advance to prepare content and then copy and paste information into the on-line form.

All paper and poster presenters must register for the conference. Conference presenters are expected to assume costs related to travel, accommodations, and registration. 

* Continuing education units may be applied to requirements for AHNCC Board certification or recertification in holistic nursing.
