Title: Transforming Health Care: Facilitating Patient Experiences and Satisfaction
Date: September 18-21, 2014
Location: METS Center, Erlanger, KY (adjacent to the Greater Cincinnati Airport). The METs Center is part of Northern Kentucky University, a cosponsor for the program.
Conference Theme: The theme of this national conference focuses on issues related to healthcare transformation and factors that affect patient experiences, well-being, health, healing, and satisfaction. Content and discussions will center on links to Modeling and Role-Modeling nursing theory.
- Promote holistic theory-based, person -centered nursing across populations through practice, education or research.
- Encourage dialogue on improving healthcare transformation, with a focus on the Patient’s and Family’s experiences and promotion of the their satisfaction, healing, and well-being;
- Present research that furthers understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection and its relevance across populations;
- Promote greater understanding of holistic nursing concepts and their interface with Modeling and Role-Modeling;
- Provide a forum for the dissemination of knowledge of the holistic nursing theory of Modeling and Role-Modeling acquired through research, practice and teaching.
The meeting, meal, and banquet will be held at the high tech METS Center of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) which is an extension of the College of Information Technology (www.themetscenter.com). We are pleased to announce that the program is supported by the NKU College of Health Sciences. The METS Center is located just three miles from the Greater Cincinnati Airport and only ten minutes from downtown Cincinnati. It is within walking distance or complimentary shuttle service of over 1,200 leading, national brand hotel rooms. The meeting site is in the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan area of more than 1 million residents with national sports teams, museums, and activities. During your stay you may want to visit Octoberfest, the largest German celebration outside of Munich. The horse farms or the Bourbon trail are other yearlong attractions. CALL FOR POSTERS
A call for poster abstracts is open until August 15, 2014. Please send an abstract with contact information to Linda Baas at email@example.com . The abstract can be research, reports of a project, case study, or theoretical application. The abstract should be no more than 400 word. Please send the names of all authors, their titles and affiliation. The first author should also send email address and mailing address. The poster abstracts should demonstrate relationship to MRM or holistic nursing.
Once again SAMRM will hold a silent auction during the meeting and a live auction at the banquet. If you have an item that you would like to contribute to the auction please bring it to the registration desk at the meeting. Your generous contribution to the scholarship and grant fund will be recognized.

A block of hotel rooms will be held for conference attendees at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel for $112 per night. This rate will be honored 2 days prior to and after the conference. The hotel has a pool, fitness center, high speed internet access, 24 hour market for food and beverage, free guest parking, and complimentary shuttle service to the METS Center and airport. This Marriott hotel is located only 400 yards from The METS Center . Many restaurants are a short ride away at Crestview Hill or Florence Mall.
