Title: Facilitating Holistic Healing: Communicating and Connecting
Date: October 4-7, 2012
Location: Hilton Hotel, Mall of America, Minneapolis, Minneaota
Conference Theme: This conference focuses on how nurses can facilitate the holistic healing process. Conference participants will engage in discussions centered on the many ways in which communicating and connecting facilitate healing in individuals, groups, and systems. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact around common philosophical themes and be part of an international audience.
Conference Goals:
- Promote holistic theory-based, person-centered nursing across populations through research, education, and practice.
- Provide a forum for discussing strategies to enhance the healing process through interactive, interpersonal relationships.
- Contribute to the improvement of health care by creating environments that facilitate holistic healing through communicating and connection.
- Promote greater understanding of healing and the interface with Modeling and Role-Modeling nursing theory.
- Disseminate knowledge of Modeling and Role-Modeling theory acquired through research, practice, and teaching.

Fall foliage: at its peak around late September through mid-October.
Apple picking: there are dozens of apple orchards in the area, most of them in the outer suburbs or just outside the metro area.
University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum: featuring over 1000 acres of natural areas, it's especially spectacular in the fall.
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon: come early and participate!
Water Park of America: offering a spa, two restaurants, 5,800 sq ft arcade, cafe, and more! Near the Mall of America in the Radisson Hotel, Bloomington.
Mall of America: the largest indoor shopping area in the country, it's equipped with every chain store known to man as well as "Camp Snoopy", an indoor amusement park.
Other attractions include Minneapolis Parks, the Three Rivers Park District, the Minnesota Zoo, the Como Zoo, and much, much more!
